Irish Post Offices & Postmarks

Tulach Mhór - Tullamore, Co Offaly

The Post Office at Tullamore opened between 1726-9 and is sometimes referenced as Tullymore. It has an extensive range of postmarks including an Undated Mark, a Mileage Mark (48 & 49), a Penny Post Mark, a Maltese Cross and it was allocated numeral 438. English and Irish versions exist of Single Rings, Double Rings, Skeletons with an Irish Machine Mark and Registration Mark. English versions exist of a Parcel and a a Paid Mark. The Printed Matter Code was TJR.
